Higher timeframe confirmation indicator for TradingView

Your Bias Was Right.
Your Timing Wasn't.

The higher timeframe tells you where. The lower timeframe tells you when. Most traders can only watch one chart at a time. ICT X watches the daily, weekly and monthly candle for you, and fires the entry the moment the sweep fails and CISD confirms it.

The Real Problem

You Know the Model.
You Just Can't Watch Three Timeframes At Once.

Sweep on the higher timeframe. Displacement away from it. Return to the gap it left. Simple in theory - until you're alt-tabbing between four charts trying to hold it all in your head.

01

You Keep Switching Charts To Check Bias

Daily for direction, weekly for context, your entry timeframe for the trigger. By the time you've flipped through all three, the candle you needed to see has already closed.

02

Your Structure Labels Move When You Change Timeframe

You mark a CHoCH on the 15-minute. Switch to the 5-minute to fine-tune your entry, and the label has shifted or disappeared, because most tools recalculate structure per chart, not on a fixed engine.

03

You Don't Know What Price Actually Swept

The wick takes the liquidity, the candle closes, and the exact level that got taken is gone from your chart thirty seconds later. Without a reference, you can't judge if the CISD that follows is even valid.

04

Every Fair Value Gap Looks The Same

A gap left by a structure flip and a gap left by a failed sweep are not the same trade. Most tools mark every gap on the chart identically and let you guess which one matters.

05

The Sweep Excites You. The CISD Doesn't Fire.

A sweep is a heads-up, not a trigger. Trading the sweep alone - before delivery actually shifts - is the single most common way traders misuse this entire model.

06

Two Tools, Two Subscriptions, Still Guessing

A levels tool tells you where. A separate entry tool tells you when. Stitching the two together manually, mid-session, under pressure, is where the good trade gets missed.

“The market doesn't break levels to continue.
It breaks levels to collect orders.”

That's not bad luck. That's by design. ICT X exists to show you the design, not just the break.

The Method, Once

One Indicator. Both Jobs.

Four steps. Everything else in ICT X is detail on one of them.

STEP 1

HTF sweep

Wick takes liquidity on the panel

STEP 2

Failure to displace

Body closes back above/below

STEP 3

CISD break

Close breaks the trigger line

STEP 4

FVG tap

Price returns to the gap it left

“Not because a line broke. But because aggressive liquidity movement failed.”

A sweep is a heads-up. A CISD break is the trigger. Read this twice - trading the sweep alone is the most common way to misuse this tool.

What It Detects

Everything In The Manual. All On One Chart.

Every feature below is documented in full in the ICT X User Guide.

01

The HTF Panel

Foundation

Daily, weekly and monthly candles, drawn beside your live chart

Three groups of higher-timeframe candles drawn to the right of live price, so you never change timeframe to read bias. Filled means closed up, hollow means closed down. Set how many candles each group holds independently.

02

CRT: The Four-Candle Story

Sequence

A numbered sequence you read left to right

A number appears on an HTF candle the moment it earns it: range, sweep and fail, displacement, completion. No number means no sequence in progress. The stage you care about is the sweep that failed - that's the one that arms everything else.

03

The Sweep & FTD Level

Reference Level

The exact price that got swept, projected onto your chart

When a candle sweeps and fails, it leaves a price behind: the failure-to-displace level. ICT X draws this level on the HTF panel and projects it onto your chart, so you know exactly which price everything else is reacting to.

04

CISD: The Trigger

The Entry

The entry is the break, not the sweep

The CISD line sits at the open of the move that did the sweeping. A candle must close through it - a wick is not a break. This is the moment the question gets answered: has delivery actually changed?

05

CHoCH & BOS On A Fixed Engine

Stable Structure

Labels that don't move when you change timeframe

Structure is calculated on a fixed 1-hour engine, not on whatever chart you happen to be viewing. Drop from a 15-minute to a 1-minute for your entry and the CHoCH/BOS labels stay exactly where they were.

06

CHoCH FVG & CISD FVG

Confluence

Same box, different origin - and it matters

Most tools mark every fair value gap the same. ICT X tags each one by the event that created it: a CHoCH FVG is a fresh structure flip, a CISD FVG is left by the exact candles that broke the trigger line. When price closes through a gap, it flips to an IFVG and keeps its origin tag.

07

HTF Levels

Location

Previous day, week and month - high, low and midpoint

The obvious places price reaches for, drawn automatically and color-matched to the HTF panel. Cyan is daily, gold is weekly, red is monthly. Dashed lines mark the 50% midpoint of each.

08

Alerts & Setup

Automation

12 conditions, in two jobs: look, or act

Right-click the chart, add an ICT X alert, pick a condition. Sweep alerts fire while the candle is still forming - that's the point of a heads-up. Your entry is still the CISD break, or the BOS that follows it.

Every Time Price Reaches Your Level

Only Two Things Can Happen. Both Are Objective.

CISD FIRES AFTER THE SWEEP

Sweep completes. Delivery shifts. ICT X prints the level on your chart.

→ This is your entry.

CISD DOESN'T FIRE

Sweep happens. Delivery doesn't shift. No signal printed.

→ You wait. Completely objective.

The story before the break is what gives the setup meaning. ICT X shows you the whole story - HTF sweep, CISD trigger, and the FVG it left - on one chart, in real time.

FAQ

Common Questions

What is ICT X?

ICT X is a TradingView indicator that watches the daily, weekly and monthly candle for a liquidity sweep that fails, then confirms the entry with a CISD break, CHoCH/BOS structure, and origin-tagged fair value gaps - all on one chart, without switching timeframes.

How is ICT X different from SMC X?

SMC X focuses on CISD entry detection on your active chart. ICT X builds on the same CISD trigger and adds a live HTF panel showing daily, weekly and monthly candles beside your chart, a numbered CRT sequence, CHoCH/BOS calculated on a fixed 1-hour engine so labels don't move when you change timeframe, and origin-tagged FVGs with inversion tracking.

Does ICT X repaint?

No. CISD lines, HTF levels, and structure breaks are all drawn from confirmed candle closes. Sweep alerts fire while a candle is still forming by design - that's the heads-up - but the entry trigger itself, the CISD break, only prints on a confirmed close.

What is a CISD break, and why isn't the sweep the entry?

A sweep is a heads-up - price took liquidity, but that alone tells you nothing about delivery. The CISD line sits at the open of the move that did the sweeping, and only a candle CLOSE through that line counts as the trigger. Trading the sweep alone is the most common way traders misuse this model.

Why do my structure labels move on other indicators but not on ICT X?

Most tools recalculate CHoCH/BOS on whatever chart timeframe you're viewing. ICT X calculates structure on a fixed 1-hour engine, so dropping to a lower timeframe for your entry doesn't shift or delete the labels you already confirmed.

What timeframe should I set my alerts on?

An alert locks in the timeframe and settings you had when you created it - changing your chart afterward doesn't affect it. Set gap alerts on a low timeframe. Structure is always calculated on the 1-hour engine, so a 5-minute alert still reflects the real structure.

Does ICT X work on any asset?

Yes. ICT X works on any asset available in TradingView - forex, crypto, indices, futures, and equities - on any chart timeframe, with HTF confirmation drawn from the daily, weekly and monthly candles regardless of which chart you're on.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. ICT X includes a 7-day free trial with full indicator access. A card is required to start, but cancel before day 8 and you will not be charged. The lifetime plan is normally $399 - currently $199 during the 50%-off flash sale - with no recurring fees and all future updates included.

The Setup Was There.
You Just Weren't Watching That Timeframe.

ICT X watches the daily, weekly and monthly candle for you, and fires the entry the moment the sweep fails and CISD confirms it. Start your 7-day free trial and see the whole model on one chart.
